Signify Lights Government School In Gopalganj, Bihar Under CSR Program

Signify (Euronext: LIGHT), the world leader in lighting, recently illuminated the government senior secondary school at Barauli in the Gopalganj district of Bihar, under its Jagmag Pathshala CSR program, in association with FINISH society and Pandit Banaras Tiwari Hemvanti Devi Foundation. 

The event was inaugurated by leading Bollywood actor Shri Pankaj Tripathi, District Magistrate of Gopalganj Shri Dr Nawal Kishor Choudhary, and Mr Nikhil Gupta, Head of Marketing & Integrated Communications and Commercial Operations, South Asia at Signify. 

As a step towards creating a brighter future for the children, Signify has installed a 4.5 KW solar power plant that can provide clean and sustainable energy to 13 classrooms in the school. It will also reduce the school’s dependence on traditional electricity sources, lower the operating costs and the school's carbon footprint in the long run. The company has also installed 96 energy-efficient LED Battens and 73 energy-efficient high speed fans in the school, to create a more comfortable and conducive learning environment for more than 500 students studying in the school.
