DB Schenker's CSR Initiative Provides Underprivileged Youth An Opportunity To Learn and Earn

DB Schenker has launched its first CSR program in India in the city of Bangalore for skill development of underprivileged youth. The program was conducted in association with SAMA Foundation, an NGO which works for the welfare of deprived people in the area. The objective of the program was 'Learn and Earn'. The idea was to provide knowledge & skills about computers, retail and basic management to underprivileged youth so that they can earn a living. Ms. Renu Bohra, Director, Human Resource (HR), Schenker India Private Limited said "We feel happy working with the underprivileged youth of India towards building self-reliance and creating livelihood opportunities. Additionally we will help these youth find job opportunities in leading retail companies where there is requirement for data entry operators and sales representatives."

A total 40 students were enrolled for the first batch of the program; a total of 120 students will be trained in three batches throughout the year.
